The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon…It’s MSN Autos Editor’s Choice
Wagon’s have come a long way since the peak of their popularity in the ’60s. And we hope with the sleek, sporty design of the CTS-V Wagon, the Wagon trend will start again. And if the design and performance doesn’t quite sway you, the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon took its place as one of the top 10 vehicles of the year, earning the MSN Autos Editor’s Choice Award.
The MSN Autos staff and contributors selected the winners based on vehicles that have risen to the top of their field in 2010. The awards are meant to celebrate greatness in the automotive industry.
“The 2011 CTS-V Sport Wagon blends striking sheet metal with some of General Motors’ most potent and race-bred technology,” MSN Autos wrote in naming the winners. ”It’s armed with the same menacing, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine found in the CTS-V Sedan, which means 556 horsepower will be on tap, as well as a slew of brake, suspension and interior upgrades.
The CTS-V Wagon joined Cadillac’s V-Series line of luxury performance vehicles for the 2011 model year. In addition to the supercharged engine, the CTS-V Wagon has Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The CTS-V Wagon also offers 25 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seat, about twice as much cargo room as a sedan in the same class.
“The CTS-V Wagon raises the bar for what’s expected from this segment,” said Don Butler, vice president for Cadillac marketing. “It combines world-class performance and ample cargo room into a beautifully sculpted luxury wagon.” [Source: GM]
Beside the amazing sports look of this wagon, the CTS-V Wagon comes with OnStar which now offers more flexible speech recognition, directed help, Automatic Crash Response and Turn-by-Turn Navigation. It’s time to bring back the popularity of the Wagon.
