OnStar and Google to join forces.

June 9th, 2010 by

The OnStar technology is more popular than ever and has services available consisting of Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Crisis Assist, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Remote Door Unlock, Roadside Assistance, Remote Horn and Lights, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics, Hands-Free Calling, and Turn-by-Turn Navigation.

Now there is something new coming! OnStar is teaming up with Google Maps to enhance the popular Turn-by-Turn Navigation service. This is something I am very excited about and I know my customers will be excited about as well!

OnStar is standard for a year on over 50 GM vehicles. Once that year is over there are some fees involved if you would like to keep your services. Here are a list of some of the cars that OnStar is available on for the 2010 model year.

Buick Enclave, Buick LaCrosse, Buick Lucerne, GMC Acadia, GMC Canyon, GMC Sierra, GMC Terrain, GMC Yukon, Cadillac CTS, Cadillac DTS, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac SRX and the Cadillac STS.  These 2010 model year vehicles are available at your local Cincinnati Cadillac dealer.

Want to know more about the new Google Maps feature? Here’s what OnStar has to say.

Send destinations from Google Maps to your vehicle

OnStar and Google have reached an agreement to enhance OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation Service. OnStar eNav, a feature of Turn-by-Turn Navigation, will expand and become available through Google MapsTM mapping service at the end of June.

OnStar subscribers will be able to search for and identify destinations using Google Maps mapping service and send those destinations to their vehicles. Subscribers can then get directions to their destination from anywhere on the road.

Who is excited about this new feature? I personally can not wait. Let me know how you feel about OnStar and which feature or services are your favorite.
