IIHS’s Newest Top Safety Pick….the 2011 Buick Enclave!

March 15th, 2011 by

The 2011 Buick Enclave has just earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for all models built after January this year.

In order to receive a Safety Top Safety Pick designation, vehicles are tested in front, side rear and rollover crash protection tests and they also must have electronic stability control as well as meet the highest possible IIHS rating of “Good.”

The 2011 Enclave has a comprehensive safety system designed to protect passengers – before, during and after a crash.  Before a crash, active safety features like StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation and Panic Brake Assist help drivers avoid crashes. When an emergency braking maneuver is detected, the Panic Brake Assist system automatically develops additional brake pressure to more quickly engage antilock brakes, potentially reducing overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay that can occur if a driver does not brake hard enough and/or soon enough.

Technologies like rollover sensing, six standard air bags, front seat safety belt pretensioners and load limiters help protect occupants during a crash. Pretensioners reduce safety belt slack, and load limiters moderate the load of the safety belt on the occupant in a crash. Both safety belt technologies work together to help keep occupants in place during a crash. [GM]

The new 2011 Buick Enclave is joining the ranks of the 2011 Buick Regal and the 2011  Buick LaCrosse.  If you’re considering a new vehicle, you may want to consider Buick seeing as tho they have three models with the IIHS Top Safety Pick designation.  That does

say a lot about safety. Plus, Buick also offers the best safety feature on the market, OnStar!  Should you ever get in a crash, OnStar’s

Automatic Crash Response will alters first responders to get medical help to you as fast as possible. Now that’s very assuring.

In our opinion, this is the best crossover on the market right now.  It’s so good looking from the inside, out and is a very safe vehicle.  And if you don’t believe us, come see for yourself at Bill DeLord Buick today.
