Does Your Car or Truck Smell?

March 19th, 2010 by

Does your new or used car or truck have an odd smell? Are you wondering what it could be? Let’s see if we can figure it out.

Gasoline smell in the car? – It’s possible that it could be a defective evaporation control canister; leaking or disconnected vapor or fuel line. You should have that checked out because it could make you really dizzy while you are driving.

Exhaust odor smell in the car? – That might actually be a puncture in the exhaust pipe under the passenger compartment. Could be a couple of different things though.

Burning rubber? – You have a hot tire more than likely from a locked brake shoe. Or it’s the rubber hose coming in contact with your hot engine.

Burning plastic smell? – That’s could be a short circuit in your electrical system, and you’ll want to get that checked out.

Preventative maintenance is so important. If you start smelling something odd coming from your car you should really take it to your Dayton Cadillac dealer and get it looked at.
