Spacious Full Sized SUVs for the modern family

SUVs have grown into the American iconic car. Where in the past SUVs were considered to be top-heavy gas guzzling vehicles, advances in technology and engineering design have made the SUV fuel efficient and safer. Forbes once wrote that “SUVs are arguably the perfect car… for sheer versatility, comfort or safety nothing can touch them”. The 2016 Yukon and Yukon XL epitomize the SUV through its power, performance, and design.

Designed for the modern family

One of the key features of the Yukon and Yukon XL is that they are made with the family in mind. As the average family has multiple children, the interior space had to be made to accommodate the average family as well as a friend or a family pet. Depending on which seating option you chose, the 2016 Yukon can accommodate up to nine people. When the back seat is not in use, the back seat third-row seats can be folded flat to maximize the cargo area. Remote power folding options are available.

The interior design is not just the seating but also the technology and the comfort solutions for the passengers. As the 2016 Yukon and Yukon XL is designed to accommodate the modern family, modern technology and entertainment has been integrated into the design. The available Infotainment system (called the GMC IntelliLink system) allows you to sync social media application such as Pandora, certain messaging apps, Bluetooth, navigational assistance, and video syncing. Because GMC understands that not everyone in the vehicle will agree on the music or want to have their social content on the front console, Multiple USB ports and auxiliary jacks are available throughout the SUV for those wishing to use their own devices.

Exterior Design

The exterior of the 2016 Yukon and Yukon XL has been refined from prior models. Notable in the 2016 model is the large front grille and the running lamps. The headlights have more of a curvature with the top portion of the lighting flowing back over the hood slightly. LED turn signals as the running lamps give the driver a wider range of visibility.

More curvature has been added to the design from that of the formal years. However, the SUV still retains some accented angles, specifically around the grille region to help convey the power and performance of the vehicle.

GMC has integrated several safety features into the 2016 Yukon and Yukon XL. The lower center of gravity in the vehicle helps to minimize rolling in the event that the vehicle has a side collision with another vehicle. Coupled with a steel frame and strategically placed air bags, the structure has been designed to advert the major force of a collision around the passengers and minimize the injuries which could be sustained in a full frontal collision.

The driver’s seating and visibility have been engineered into the overall design to help increase the safety of all the passengers while the vehicle is being operated. By designing the dash at a level that keeps the eyes on the road as well as offering various options to help keep the hands on the wheel, the diver experience and safety is increased.

To further enhance the safety of the vehicle available assistance safety technology is available. Such features includes the Safety Alert Seat, Front collision alert, Front and Rear Park assist, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intellibeam Headlights, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Ask your dealership about the packages and features available for your selected model.
